Much like the evolution of my artwork, my artistic career path
has taken many twist and turns. I went to the Hartford Art School
in the mid to late seventies and received my BFA Magna Cum Laude
in 1980.
Prior to that I took drawing classes at the Copley Art Society in
Boston and at
The Art Students League in New York City. While at The Hartford
Art School I was a painting major, but was then also introduced to
the world of sculpture learning wood carving and clay modeling and
casting. Painting and sculpture became my two greatest passions
and from that point forward I embarked on a long artistic 3D painting
odyssey.
Not wanting to spend more time on one than the other, I was driven
to find a way to combine these two disciplines. I looked for and
tested and retested and eventually found an array of materials that
worked together to produce 3D painted wall sculpture that is easy to
manipulate yet withstands the test of time.
